The center is located in Dhanbari municipality under the upazila, 60 km north of Tangail district town. The horticulture center on the northern side of Dhanbari College, shaded by a variety of trees, is dedicated to the development of its own beauty and the preservation of natural balance. Reviewing the context of the establishment of Dhanbari Horticulture Center, it is known that the contribution of the zamindar of the area is there. Later, the British government allotted 60.06 acres of land in 1918 to set up a settlement in Dhanbari. Dhanbari zamindar during the rule of the then British Government was the Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture of Undivided Bengal, Nawab, due to the absence of the Mahukuma headquarters at Dhanbari.Bahadur Nawab Ali Chowdhury established a firm called Krishi Farm in 5.99 acres out of the said 60.06 acres. The agricultural firm was later established as Dhanbari Horticulture.
The company was initially run as Barga Farm but later on it has been selling and distributing various fruits, forest, herbs, vegetable spices, flowers, ornamental tree seedlings, seedling pens as per proper government regulations. As a result, Dhanbari Horticulture Center has become an important institution in the production and distribution of various horticultural seedlings, grafted seeds and obtaining and providing information advice.
